Seneca Conservation District is a team that works to conserve our resources, educates and inspires our community to support our future, through science and wise, conscious choices on the farms, in the homes and at the schools in Seneca County.  

In doing this, SCD offers two scholarships to students pursuing science-based careers that relate to the mission of Seneca Conservation District (conservation, ecology, sustainability, agriculture, etc). The information for the scholarships is listed below.


2018 SCD Scholarship

We are no longer accepting applications for this scholarship. Please check back next year to apply for our 2019 SCD Scholarship.

Eligibility:
  • High school senior or college bound in the fall
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Science related degree
  • Applicant and parent/guardian must be a resident of Seneca County
Amount Offered:   

The recipient of this scholarship will receive a $500 check.  The scholarship must be used for either tuition or books for the upcoming Fall Semester.  

Application Materials:
  • Completed Application Form
  • Typed essay as described in the Application Form
Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and the winner will be approved by the SCD board.  The recipient of the scholarship will be contacted personally by Seneca Conservation District.

The selection committee reserves the right to refuse the application due to any component, including: incomplete condition, essay content, and course type.

Due Date:  

Applications must be mailed, e-mailed, or returned to the Seneca Conservation District office by March 30, 2018 by 4:30 p.m.

2018 Tia J Rice Memorial Scholarship

 

We are no longer accepting applications for this scholarship. Please check back next year to apply for our 2019 Tia J Rice Memorial Scholarship.

Eligibility:
  • Attendance at The Ohio State University (any branch)
  • Conservation or agricultural related major
Amount Offered:   

The recipient of this scholarship will receive a $500 check.  The scholarship must be used for either tuition or books for the upcoming Fall Semester.  

Application Materials:
  • Completed Application Form
  • Typed essay as described in the Application Form
Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and the winner will be selected by the SCD board.  Preference will be given to Seneca County residents and children of SWCD employees.  The recipient of the scholarship will be contacted personally by Seneca Conservation District.
