Working mostly with the Ditch Maintenance department to spray and maintain drainage ditches will be the primary responsibility of this position. Other roles will include assisting all staff and cooperating on special initiatives during the summer and fall season. Internship or cooperative learning experiences are possible for this person. Must be 18 years of age.
As an SCD team member, every day will be a new adventure and you’ll do your work from different locations in fields, ditches, farms, villages, backyards and at our demonstration property, Proving Ground Farm. We are looking for a person who wants to make a difference by helping the environment and the people of Seneca County. You will be connecting with local folks and complement a strong team that will make the days go fast and the work feel good.
The right person must be self-motivated to have a strong work ethic, know and appreciate the local agricultural communities, and be able to juggle multiple projects at once. Detailed record keeping and awesome communication skills are a must! Use of mobile and desktop computing technology is a daily task.
The full-time positions require relevant work experience, but not formal education. Work hours are always Mon-Fri, 8a-4:30p and paid holidays, sick leave and vacation are included.
