Soil Health Farm Visit

We start by getting to know you and reaching an understanding of what you are looking for throughout the process.
We will also discuss what a reasonable timeline for increasing your soils’ resilience looks like.
Just like each state and county is different, each and every farm is different as well.
Whether your interest is in starting off with no-till, cover crops, incorporating livestock - our office can help you develop a plan that is right for your farm to reach your soil health goals.
A plan through our office is specifically written for your operation based on our consultation and conversations with you.
Service Inclusion
Our team will work with you to create a one-on-one assessment to plan an implementation of practices on your farm.
For example, if you wanted to start with cover crops we would take the following steps:
- Review goals of growing a cover crop (reduce compaction, weed suppression, water infiltration, nutrient utilization, forage production, etc.)
- Choose the right field and crop rotation for success.
- Evaluate resource concerns, program considerations and herbicide impacts.
- Determine species (grasses, legumes, brassicas, other or blends.)
- Determine seeding methods and timing of planting.
- Determine nutritional planning (fertilizer/manures.)
- Determine management plan and times.
- Determine termination plan.
