Cover Crop Reimbursement Available through Farmers for Soil Health Project
The Farmers for Soil Health project is continuing to deliver technical assistance and cover crop reimbursement for 65,000 acres across Ohio.
Enrollment is open until August 30, 2026, for acres planted to cover crops in 2026. This program can be stacked with H2Ohio.
Farmers for Soil Health is a farmer-led, 20-state program, created in partnership with the Soy Checkoff, Pork Checkoff and National Corn Growers Association.
This program is designed to help producers improve soil health while strengthening their bottom line. Created by farmers for farmers, this program promotes the adoption of proven practices, like cover crops, that support healthier soil, improved water quality and long-term farm productivity.
Farmers can receive financial assistance for every acre of cover crops, regardless of cover crop history. They also have
access to on-call support from local technical advisors to help them feel confident as they make new management decisions on their operations.
