Seneca Conservation District 2026 Scholarship Recipients
Seneca Conservation District honored two local students with scholarships to assist them in their future academic pursuits.
The Seneca Conservation District scholarship, in the amount of $500, provides support for applicants pursuing science-based careers that relate to its mission. Work in conservation, ecology, sustainability and agriculture are examples of some, but not all, of the related careers/majors.
Alexander Fitzpatrick, a senior at Hopewell-Loudon High School, is this year’s recipient. He plans to study agriculture at Wilmington College.
The Tia J. Rice Scholarship was created to memorialize former District Administrator Tia Rice’s passion with youth, conservation and The Ohio State Buckeyes. The purpose of this $500 scholarship is to provide support for applicants pursuing education at The Ohio State University that will amplify the mission and work of Seneca Conservation District for the future. Studies in ecology, sustainability and agriculture are examples of some, but not all, of the related careers/majors.
This year’s recipient is Logan Snavely, a senior at Seneca East High School. He plans to study ag business and ag systems management at The Ohio State University.
Snavely also was the recipient of an additional $250 Seneca Conservation District scholarship.
