It’s hard to believe that 2024 is in full swing already! With that in mind, our H2Ohio department needs your help as we work to verify your Conservation Crop Rotation (Small Grains) and Overwintering Cover Crop practices that were seeded into or following the harvest of your 2023 crops.
Cover Crops Verification: if you planted a cover crop for either the Overwintering Cover Crop Practice or the Small Grains Practice follow the cover crop checklist below.

To verify cover crops, we need:
- A list of applied fields (make sure the field names match the ones in your nutrient management plan)
- Date of application of the cover crop
- Method of application (broadcast with or without incorporation, aerial, drilled, etc.)
- Seeding rate
- Cover crop/double crop receipt
- Seed tags showing germination and purity
Double Crop Beans: if you planted double crop beans (or another double crop) after the harvest of a small grain to qualify for the Small Grains Practice follow the checklist below.
